These Match Best Friend Photos are my favorite souveniers
THIS GUYYYYY
kept weaving around in front of me as I was running to get the shot
SEE?? There he is again on the left.
BUT IT WAS WORTH IT.
Note: bags, ho-boots, and the neo-acid wash.
NOTE: THE ONE ON THE LEFT IS WEARING A SCRUNCHIE
For these ladies, I have had to re-open my AcidWatch category, which had become old hat.
FYI, we're all going to be wearing this shit in 2011. Like it or not.
I love the stance, the bags side, the flip-flops. I also like that it's not matchy down to the details, but that these girls obvs think alike. That is the essence of Matchy Best Friends. ...although, so is leather.
At first I thought these two were wearing some sort of uniform for a preppy convention, or a cheerleader competition, or a dance group reality TV show.
...the boots
...the jackets
...the leggings
...the tousled locks
...the crossed legs
BUT then I saw that the linings in their windbreakers was different.
So they really are JUST MATCHY BEST FRIENDS!
wowee.
Some of you know me through my band, The Lascivious Biddies.
If you have been to a show, you have likely heard me talk about my Great Aunt Mary. My song "Wichita" (links to iTunes for a sample) was inspired by a funny conversation we had years ago.
She passed away yesterday...thought you all might like to know.
Here she is walking the walk in downtown Wichita in the 1950's. Great dress/hat combo, right? I am also taken by the little bow, dark skirt accents and white sunglasses on the little princess next to her...
Here's another of Mary and my Grandmother Rosalie, who we also lost recently.
Both ladies were in their late nineties when they passed!
I hope to be as lucky as both of them - to see nearly a century of life...
Furs and red lipstick! You've gotta love it...
xo
Not 45 minutes after I posted the first "Matchy Best Friends" photo, I ended up one myself! A friend needed some computer help, so I stopped in her shop on my way to town...and voila'!
There's a song that goes with the "Matchy Best Friends" category. I gotta get it going for you.
My friend Jaime spotted dese guys this summer. Look around you. They are everywhere.
Although the following also falls under "AcidWatch!" I think I need to add another category called "Oh Honey, No." Just for this poor thing.
I am an itinerant singer with a love of food, sewing & travel...and writing about it all.
